SLICED PLANES

MIRCO PECORARI ORIGINAL ARTWORK
SERVICE: Concept Design and Manufacturing

Sliced Plane is a study of aerodynamic purity, an artwork that reveals the hidden rhythm of flight by transforming continuous surfaces into sequences of light and shadow.

FASCINATION WITH FLYING FORMS

I have always been fascinated by flying forms.

By the essential beauty of aerodynamic objects designed to pierce the air. Forms that become extensions of the pilot. Sinuous surfaces that move through the fluid they inhabit without disturbing it: passing through with respect, seducing without breaking harmony.

In these geometries I do not see engineering alone. I see functional art. Inevitable art.

REVEALING THE ESSENCE

With Sliced Plane, I wanted to celebrate the essence of these forms.

To truly understand them, I made a radical decision: to section the fuselage at equal intervals.

By slicing the volume rhythmically, the form becomes readable. What was once a continuous surface turns into a sequence, a dialogue between solid and void, brightness and shadow, presence and absence.

MATERIAL INTERPRETATION

Each section is crafted in wood, metal, or plexiglass and mounted onto a base that can be wood, stone, glass, metal, or composite.

Different materials create different interpretations: warm or technical, natural or industrial. Each piece maintains the same aerodynamic DNA while expressing a unique character.

FROM SKY TO WALL

The artwork is designed to be hung on a wall.

If an aircraft is the form that takes you into the sky, Sliced Plane is the form you bring into your home.
