IXOOST is not a speaker. It is the translation of mechanical performance into sound, sculpture, and presence, where engines stop racing and begin to resonate.

THE ORIGIN

Everything began with a call from Matteo Panini, collector of classic cars and guardian of Modena’s mechanical heritage. The request was simple and radical: design a sound system made from exhaust pipes.

Racing exhaust manifolds are already mechanical sculptures. Engineered so that each pipe maintains identical length despite different starting points, they curve, flow, and merge into a single outlet. Pure engineering logic, yet the result feels like a wind instrument.

An engine does not make noise. It performs.

FROM EXHAUST TO OBJECT

From that intuition, an object had to be born.
Modular. Mechanical. Luxurious.

Every exhaust manifold has its own geometry: different collectors, spacing, proportions. The challenge was to create a coherent design language that remained mechanically authentic while becoming iconic in form.

Dozens of concepts led to a modular base capable of hosting four or six collectors, named in Modenese dialect: OT and DODES. Eight and Twelve. A clear nod to V8 and V12 engines.

BEYOND THE SPEAKER

The base evolved into an elegant valet tray with leather inserts, echoing high-end sports car interiors. Conceived as an iPhone dock, it was paired with a dedicated app whose interface matched the metal and leather finishes. Alongside music playback, users could listen to the unmistakable “WROOOM” of legendary engines.

A sound system that never forgets its origins.

I was responsible not only for the product design, but also for the entire visual identity: logo, presentations, website, and brochures. It became a complete ecosystem, not just a device.

THE EVOLUTION OF AN IDEA

Once the first design was realized, it became clear that the idea could go much further. The initial model opened the door to new explorations in form, materials, and mechanical configurations.

Different exhaust geometries inspired new interpretations, leading to additional concept studies and eventually to the introduction of new models. What began as a single object evolved into a growing collection: each piece distinct, yet rooted in the same mechanical DNA.

SIGNATURE MODELS

RADIAL 6

As an aircraft designer, the aviation direction was inevitable.

After sourcing a 6-into-1 collector, I designed a fictional six-cylinder radial engine: a playful provocation, since radial engines traditionally use odd numbers of cylinders.

At the center sits a polished spinner. Around it, six radial tweeters suspended symmetrically. The structure is supported by an aerodynamic fin mounted on a circular base. A sound system that appears ready for takeoff.

XILO

From the Greek word for wood.

A cylindrical wooden body supports exhaust elements inspired by 10-cylinder Formula 1 engines. Five collectors rise from five tweeters and merge into a bold diagonal termination, a distinctly Modenese gesture.

Warm materiality meets racing precision.

LAMBORGHINI EXAVOX

Inspired by the hexagonal design language of Automobili Lamborghini.

Designed according to the same principles shaping the brand’s supercars, it integrates the original guarded start button used in production vehicles.

Carbon fiber. Aluminum. Mechanical emotion.
A statement piece for the most exclusive spaces.

DESIGN AS TRANSLATION

IXOOST was not merely product design. It was an act of translation: noise into music, mechanics into sculpture, performance into domestic presence, and speed into emotion.

The goal was never simply to design a speaker. It was to capture the soul of an engine and let it resonate in a living space. An object that does not just play sound. It breathes.
