BEYOND THE COMPETITION

Some projects are born to win competitions. Others are born to explore something greater.

UNI belonged to the second category.

The most extraordinary aspect was not the Google Lunar XPRIZE challenge itself, but the opportunity to collaborate with remarkable minds from around the world: scientists, entrepreneurs, artists, designers, musicians, astronauts. Different disciplines and cultures, united by one shared direction: forward.

The real prize was the experience.

WHAT DOES AN EXPLORER LOOK LIKE?

We began with a simple question:
What does an explorer look like?

A lunar or Martian rover is never just a machine. We instinctively give these robots a soul, perhaps because they are our extension, sent where we cannot go. They become our eyes, our hands, our curiosity made tangible.

UNI could never be just a box on wheels.

A VESSEL NOT A VEHICLE

In my mind, UNI became a hull.
A small ship navigating the vast ocean of the unknown.

Its articulated legs were not only a technical solution, but a symbol of adaptation the way this vessel could move across unfamiliar terrain. Rolling, walking, exploring. Almost alive.

Designing an explorer means designing a personality.

AN INVITATION

UNI stands for unity. Collaboration was never incidental to the project, it was its foundation.

It is an invitation to explore.
An invitation to build together.
An invitation to use reason as a tool and curiosity as fuel.

FROM PLAY TO PROTOTYPE

I did not simply work on UNI. I played.

From early sketches to 3D modeling and eventually to a physical scale prototype used for stop-motion episodes, UNI evolved into something more than a rover. It became a character and an invitation.

THE REAL PRIZE

Humanity advances when it dares to ask questions and when it builds together.

UNI is one of those small vessels sent into vast spaces with courage and discipline.

If you feel the urge to build something that does not yet exist, do it.

Draw. Design. Collaborate.

Do not wait for a prize to begin.
